**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS**

This group class allows fiddle players to enhance their skills through tune-based learning that pulls from different genres. Building on the foundations from Beginner and Intermediate Fiddle, or equivalent experience, this class will focus on new tunes and stylistic techniques to bolster repertoire and create strong practice habits. Fiddle Study Group fosters a sense of community along with a creative, relaxed, and enjoyable learning environment suitable for many students across different levels.  

Fiddle Study Group is designed for intermediate and advancing players as well as beginners or classical violin players who are open to learning by ear.

Pre-requisites:

be comfortable playing basic scales and/ or tunes 
understand how to learn by ear
basic understanding of the fingerboard

This class will be held from 8:00-9:15pm ET on Mondays, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, 18, 25, Dec. 2

Please note:The class will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator. 

Limited to students 16 yrs of age or older;  Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale ends 1 hour before the class begins. Tickets can be purchased at the door. before the class begins. 3 students are required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

Kat Wallace is a Boston-based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. Her affinity for original music has her working and recording with a myriad of touring bands, most notably as the fiddle player in Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light. Her debut solo album, Grand Design, set to be released on 1/24/25, captures Wallace’s musings on world’s ending, sailing across the western ocean, and moving on. Her timeless lyrics and virtuosic guitar playing are the foundation of this record and grounded in traditional Celtic and American folk repertoire.
