DHUH Workshop: Clawhammer for the Clueless

**THIS IS AN IN-PERSON WORKSHOP**

Have you learned some clawhammer banjo and don’t know where to go next? Learn some new techniques and tunes to take your playing to the next level!

We will do a study in a couple basic tunes and embellish them as we go along, incorporating techniques such as:

Hammer ons
Pull offs
Slides
Drop thumb
Double thumb
Open string pull offs

*Intermediate / beginner workshop, knowledge of bum ditty strum required

This workshop will be 60 minutes and held on April 20th from 2:30-3:30pm.

Please note: The workshop will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.

Limited to 15 students (18 yrs of age or older);  Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale ends 1 hour before the workshop begins. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the workshop begins. 3 students are required for this workshop to meet. If a workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

Johanna Wacker

• Banjo

Johanna Wacker is a singer-songwriter and roots musician from Queens, NY, though much of her family comes from the mountains of Virginia. She’s been writing songs and teaching herself to play pretty much anything with strings since she was 11 years old. Banjo and guitar quickly became her preferred instruments. Johanna has been teaching at Jalopy Theatre and School of Music since 2019, and is excited to bring her passion for teaching to Passim.
