Western Massachusetts folk-rock veterans The Nields (Nerissa & Katryna) have spent three decades on the road, sharing stages with James Taylor, 10,000 Maniacs, The Band, and the Indigo Girls while releasing 21 albums of sharp, literate, harmony-drenched songs. Their latest record, Circle of Days (2023), is a cycle of songs tracing the seasons of a year—and a life. They’re joined by rising folk-punk duo High Tea (Isabella DeHerdt & Isaac Eliot), whose “Alice in Wonderland”-like songs (The Boston Globe) channel existential angst, big feelings, and bigger hooks. Their new album A Small Notion has earned raves for its “extraordinary vocals” and rare ability to make listeners “dance joyfully one moment and tug at your heartstrings the next.” The evening is part concert, part conversation: each duo plays a mini-set, then they come together for a collaborative “fireside” set of harmony-rich covers (think Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows” and beyond) and each duo guesting on the other’s originals. It’s a generational meeting of the muses—equal parts craft, play, and emotional wallop—rooted in close harmony, fearless songwriting, and a shared love of singing people back to themselves.$5DetailsSun Mar 1st at 5PMMasters of Hawaiian Music live streamFour-time Grammy winner and slack key guitar master George Kahumoku Jr is joined by award-winners Sonny Lim and Led Kaapana, some of the most popular featured artists at George’s long-running Slack Key Show on Maui. They draw from a uniquely Hawaiian musical mix that converged in the islands – ‘ukulele introduced by Portuguese immigrants, guitar brought by Mexican vaqueros, and slide steel, invented in Hawai‘i. From the traditional roots and down-home tunings of Hawai’i’s cowboys to virtuosic ‘ukulele and steel to original songs and Hawaiian classics, they share a captivating evening of music, culture, and stories.$5Details
